Sundance has been a household name on the Rogue River since 1973. Our Kayak Schools have introduced many paddlers to their very first rapid and our guides enjoy sharing the glory of the Rogue with returning and first-time visitors.

Our instructional staff is led by J.R. Weir who has worked on the Rogue River for 15 years as a kayak instructor and river guide. His passion for kayaking and kayak instruction is unmatched. J.R. is certified by the American Canoe Association as an instructor trainer and is recognized as one of the top instructors in North America.

Nate Wilson, Lori Turbes, and Riley Morgan make up our cadre of kayak instructors. Each of them has been hand picked by Sundance for their enthusiasm, empathy, and love of kayaking. We know that you’ll have a great time with them on the river. Our raft guide crew of Ryan Saevitz, Chrissy Johnston, and Trecia Ehrlich cheerfully (and expertly) move gear from camp to camp on our wilderness expeditions.

Sundance Owners
Sundance is owned and operated by a threesome of river lovers who have outfitted rafting trips for many years, but perhaps more importantly, possess a passion for the West’s waterways and natural environments.
Zach Collier began his river career as a humble guide, and throughout the last 15 years, he’s worked with 10 different outfitters on 20 rivers. As a kayaker, he’s paddled the world from California’s Bald Rock Canyon to Nepal’s Kali Gandaki.

If Zach contributes the vigor and youth to Sundance operation, Dick Linford and Joe Daly bring the sage business perspective, having owned and operated their company, ECHO River Trips, since 1972. Throughout the past 4 decades, Dick and Joe have learned to not only run quality rafting trips, but also create family vacations and share their love of the outdoors with everyone they meet.
