Kayaking the West Fork of the Hood River

Kayaking the Upper West Fork of the Hood Above the Lake Branch

I typically work from 9 to 5 here at the Sundance office. Preparing for the season takes a lot of work. Luckily our office is minutes away from some great rivers to kayak. Close enough I can grab a few hours on the water after a day at the office. Lately, my favorite place to go is the West Fork of the Hood.

The West Fork is full of fun Class IV rapids and is tucked in a narrow forested canyon amidst two stunning basalt cliffs. It’s a great challenge as well as a great way to take in the beauty of the area. Here’s some head cam footage form the first gorge.
